It is intended to be read together with our Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy. If there is a conflict regarding reuse permissions for works expressly released under Creative Commons, this Licensing Policy and the applicable Creative Commons license control; otherwise, the Terms govern Site use.
2. License Designations
Licensed Works. Where a work is expressly marked with “© [Year] The Carpocratian School, Inc. — CC BY-NC-SA 4.0” (or substantially similar wording) and/or otherwise identified as Creative Commons licensed, that work is made available under the Creative Commons Attribution–NonCommercial–ShareAlike 4.0 International license (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0).
Excluded Materials. Unless expressly designated as Creative Commons licensed, all other materials on the Site—including without limitation our trademarks, service marks, logos, trade dress, site and page layouts, stylesheets, icons, source code, and compilations or databases—are not licensed for public reuse and may not be used without our prior written permission.
3. Summary of CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 (Plain Language)
For Licensed Works, you may share and adapt the material, provided that you:
- Attribution (BY): Give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made.

- ShareAlike (SA): If you remix, transform, or build upon the material, you must distribute your contributions under the same CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license.
This summary is for convenience only. The legal code of CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 is the authoritative license text.
4. Attribution Requirements
Your attribution must, at a minimum: (a) identify the School as the source; (b) include the work title (if provided); (c) provide a link to the original page (when available); (d) include a link to the CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license; and (e) indicate modifications, if any.
Example: “Title” by The Carpocratian School, Inc., used under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0, carpocratian.org. Changes were made.
5. NonCommercial Use
“NonCommercial” has the meaning provided in the CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license: use that is not primarily intended for or directed toward commercial advantage or monetary compensation. If you are uncertain whether a proposed use is NonCommercial, please contact us (Section 13) for clarification or to request a separate permission.
6. ShareAlike Requirement
If you adapt a Licensed Work, you must distribute your adaptation under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 and not apply legal terms or technological measures that legally restrict others from doing anything the license permits.
7. No Additional Restrictions
You may not impose further restrictions on a Licensed Work, including through digital rights management (DRM) or additional contractual terms that conflict with CC BY-NC-SA 4.0.
8. Trademarks and Branding
Nothing in this Licensing Policy or the Creative Commons license grants any rights to use our names, trademarks, service marks, logos, trade dress, or brand elements. Any such use requires prior written permission.

10. Termination and Reinstatement
Rights granted under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 terminate automatically upon any breach.
